Our Current stars have the polarity on the bottom when you read our logo, Please take this into consideration when doing your strings.

You can see that the LED ‘s star is divided up into two parts. A positive half and a negative half.

We designed our drilled and tapped heatsinks to allow for two placements of the LED star for proper orientation of the BJB connector. This shows the positive side of the LED orientated to the right.

Reversing LED

Here we have the LED star orientation flipped around. This is useful when you are wiring your strings .

Double Checking your layout

(only our premium LEDs have wording on the star)

When you look at each side of the solderless connector there is a positive or negative symbol to identify connections polarity.

When you can read the words the positive side should be right above it.

Wire Retention

If for some reason you need to remove the wire from the connector you need to bend the wire retainer to release the wire and then bend the retainer back down so it will properly clamp on to the next wire. This will prevent any loose connections that can burn out your LEDs.

 

Pad Connector

Then bend the pad connectors back out if they have been compressed onto an LED before putting it back onto an LED star.  This will prevent any loose connections that can burn out your LEDs.

 

The surface area of the star and heatsink is not perfectly flat. To fill in these micre gaps we recommend a touch of thermal paste or grease. This will greatly increase the thermal properties of your fixture

 

Once the LED and Connector is securely attached, Slide in 20ga Wire stripped with 1/2″ exposed. (Pic Coming)

After the wire is installed pull on it to ensure a tight connection.

CAUTION: A LOOSE WIRE CAN CAUSE YOUR DRIVER TO SURGE AND DAMAGE THE LEDS

 

Testing LEDs with BJB Solderless Connectors

 

Before you hook up your driver its always good to check if your LEDs are positioned properly under the BJB Solderless Connector. This is a safe easy way to do so.
