LED Seal leaves a polymer coating that is extremely water resistant seal . Our Test LED lasted over 24 hours in a glass of salt water during a recent frag swap. It is similar if not the same coating that the military uses to Mil-Spec their electronic components for use in damp environments.
The coating does not effect the optical qualities of the LED but may make it difficult for the self adhesive backing on the LEDLink optics to stick. If this happens a simple touch of Locktite No-Mess Adhesive works great.
Overall this stuff rocks and is a must for any soldered fixture.
