      48 Cree XP-E SolderLess Kit

      $242.75

This kit is the equivelent to a 250-400 Watt MH. With the High Noon XP-G Option you can easily replace any 400 Watt MH and have a fixture that draws less than half the power.
The Cree XP-E is the next generation of LEDs. Smaller and more efficient than the XR-E. Our kits are designed to offer maximum flexibility and savings. A ratio of one Cool White to Royal Blue is approximately 10-12K, 2 Royal Blue for every Cool White is between 12-15K 3Royal Blue for every Cool White is between 17-20K.
Our Premium Option offers you the best spectrum and brightness for the money and is our standard for referencing. The Cool Whites we select are crisp to give your corals the best coloration and spectrum for growth. The Royal Blue’s we carry are the most actinic Bin you can get your hands on and gives your corals the best colour pop. The Premium LEDs is what we recommend and what we have on our reefs.

Our Regular Option is great for budget builds. The big difference is brightness and colour temp. The Cool Whites have a lower colour temp and the Royal Blue may not offer the same colour pop. The light output can be up to 15% less.

To simulate the natural lighting of the coral reef we highly recommend adding the Cree XP-G Cool White for a high no0on lighting effect. We have ours on for 6 hours and growth has been outstanding. The XP-G offers a warmer spectrum along with a very nice 450nm spike which is great for growth.

Thermal Management is key our heatsinks are 8.46″ wide from Heatsink USA and with our fan kit will ensure your LEDs stay cool and last 50,000 hours.

Fans will do a lot to extend the life of your LEDs. The cooler they run the longer they last. It’s simply amazing on how airflow over a quality heatsink will lower the overall temperature. The rule of thumb is if its too hot to hold tight, its too hot for the LEDs to last.
We highly recommend dimmable drivers and a controller to give your corals a natural sunrise and sunset. A gradual rise in lighting will not shock the fish and simulate the natural lighting found on the reef. This can be accomplished best with a quality controller like an APEX or using banks of non dimmable drivers on timers
Optics are used to focus the light. Optics will increase your Par 1/3 – 2/3rds along with concentrating the light spread.
